The 2027 programme is out
Four days, twelve concerts and seven stages around Sandefjord. This is the programme for the next festival.

Thank you for this year's festival. Four days of jazz in Sandefjord — from children's jazz in the morning to jam sessions after midnight.
29 April – 5 May 2027

The programme for 2027 will be released in February.
Below: the programme from this year's festival.

Kåre Conradi is an actor, singer, composer, theatre director and poet! This evening we meet him up close, with favourite repertoire from Erik Bye, Olle Adolphson, Frank Sinatra and much more.
He is well known in Sandefjord, but don't miss this chance to get to know Conradi's artistry better on the intimate stage at Furu egg. Together with his regular guitarist Hans Mathisen and a fantastic band, we promise a warm and lovely evening!

Ingrid Saga is finally back after countless requests.
She is from Sandefjord, studied Music, Dance & Drama at SVGS and went on to Berklee College of Music in Boston. NRK P3 sums up Ingrid's singer-songwriter universe nicely: “it sparkles with warmth, melancholy and reflection”. Expect jazz standards and her own gems, strung together on a musical thread.

Hans Mathisen – Guitar
Anders Gleditsch – Piano
Olaf «Knerten» Kamfjord – Bass

Hanna is a versatile saxophonist and composer involved in many exciting projects. She received the Kongsberg Jazz Festival's main musician's award in 2025, and the Spellemann Award, the Norwegian Grammy, in 2021 and 2022. Paulsberg first heard Stan Getz at fourteen and was utterly convinced she would become a saxophonist. This concert is a tribute to Keith Jarrett and Jan Garbarek's legendary 1974 album, Belonging. A magnificent evening awaits!

Vigleik Storaas – Piano
Trygve Fiske – Bass
Hans Hulbækmo – Drums

An all-electric evening with Electric Miles
Music from what many consider Miles Davis's most exciting and fertile years, from the late sixties until his death in 1991. This band has 200 years of jazz experience between them, and several of the musicians have musical roots in Sandefjord. They deliver an explosive mix of funky, rocking and high-energy interpretations of the music that defined this exciting Miles period.
Marius Haltli – Trumpet
Fredrik Øie Jensen – Saxophone
Håvard Bakken Jakobsen – Keyboard
Leiv Inge Kvilhaug – Guitar
Erik Anti – Bass

No jazz festival without a jam
Every self-respecting jazz festival has a jam session on the programme, where all the festival's musicians and others are invited to play together on the spot. No set list, no running order – form and expression are created in the moment. The host is Ask Morris Rasmussen, with a rhythm section hand-picked for the occasion.
Ask Morris Rasmussen – Saxophone
Hogne Kleiberg – Piano
Tarald Kongshaug – Bass
Steinar Heide Bø – Drums

Once again, Sandefjord Church will be filled with gospel and enthusiasm in the fine New Orleans tradition. Røshnes Jazz Band played their first jazz mass outside their home town in Molde Cathedral during the Molde International Jazz Festival in 1981. The following year they played the gospel tent at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival with none other than Aline White.
The jazz service is organised together with Musikk i Sandefjord Kirke.

Music workshop for children and young people aged 7 to 15
This year Fjordjazz is teaming up with Sørnorsk Jazzsenter for the TRASSJAZZ music workshop
Starting from creativity and play, Trassjazz gives participants the tools to express themselves through improvised music. The workshops are free and open to all, with a particular aim of reaching children and young people who don't otherwise take part in organised leisure activities. Experience shows that an introduction to music can also help break down gender-based expectations and encourage greater diversity among the musicians of the future.
The workshop ends with a mini-concert – open to family, friends and curious listeners!

Sandefjord Storband and guests close the festival
True to tradition, Fjordjazz closes with Sandefjord Storband in top form, led by Hans Mathisen. The concert features many of the festival's headline artists – Fjordjazz in miniature, almost. It is one of the festival's best-attended concerts, the atmosphere is always great, and it makes a superb finale to Fjordjazz 2026.
Ingrid Saga – Vocals
Mari Kjølstad – Vocals
Ask Morris Rasmussen – Sax
Marius Haltli – Trumpet
Ole Edvard Antonsen – Trumpet
Hans Mathisen – Guitar

A look back at the festival weekend, with photos from the tent by the harbour and from the church concerts.
Fjordjazz is a jazz festival that sets out to deliver musical experiences of real quality and breadth. The programme has concerts for every musical taste, performed by Norwegian and international musicians.
Jazz has engaged and delighted audiences all over the world for more than 100 years, and it never goes out of fashion. It keeps evolving, while the older styles are still alive and well. Much of its form and expression is created in the moment, through interplay and improvisation. That is a big part of why so many people, whatever their age, gender or background, are fascinated by this music.
We hope you enjoy this year's programme, and we look forward to seeing you at our concerts!
